RESUMO:

Brazil is among the 15 largest fish producers in the world, with fish farming being one of the most important activities in the national agribusiness. In Santa Catarina, fish production was 42.7 thousand tons in 2015, with tilapia being responsible for 71.2% of production. In recent years the cultivation of tilapia has grown on average over 8% per year. Fish have photoperiod dependent rhythms (circadian cycle of 24 hours), including cycles of enzymatic secretion. Studies of juveniles of Nile tilapia showed that the peak of this enzymatic activity occurred between 18:44 and 20:29 hours, as well as the highest enzymatic activity between 14 and 24 hours of the day. Therefore, for Nile tilapia, digestive enzyme activity is greater at night than during the day. The objective of this work is to evaluate the zootechnical performance, production cost, nutrient retention and body indices in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), submitted to different food management (schedules and quantities of food supplied). The experiment will be carried out at the Center for Aquaculture and Fisheries Development (CEDAP) at the Itajaí Fisheries Unit, located at the Itajaí Experimental Station, lasting 40 days, from January to February 2019. A total of 360 Nile tilapia fingerlings with a mean initial weight of 5.0 g were distributed in triplicate in 18 experimental tanks of 1,0 m³ (1,0 mx 1,0 mx 1,0 m) of volumetric capacity, installed in a nursery of 300 m² with aerator. The design will be a bi-factorial (2 schedules vs 3 ways to bid) in blocks with three replications, totaling 6 treatments. All treatments received the same percentage of diet according to EPAGRI's daily recommendation table. Daily dissolved oxygen and water temperature will be monitored and weekly ammonia, nitrite, pH, alkalinity and hardness. Biometrics will also be performed weekly to monitor the growth of animals and adjust the amount of daily feed. After 40 days under experimental conditions, the fish will remain 24 hours fast and five fish per experimental unit (15 per treatment, 90 in total) will be anesthetized with clove oil (50 mg.L-1) until the opercular movements cease euthanasia by cerebral commotion and evaluation of the body indexes (visceral hepatosomatic) and sample collection for analysis of nitrogen and phosphorus retention. The other fish will be used to evaluate growth, final weight, weight gain, feed conversion, survival, production cost and productivity. Data will be submitted to Levene analysis to verify homoscedasticity. Subsequently submitted to two-factor analysis (2X3), where factor 1 is the time and factor 2 the different feed rates. If necessary the means will be compared by the Tukey test. All analyzes will be performed with significance level of 5%.
