The sperm analyzes are of paramount importance in the selection of breeding males, and Computer-assisted semen analysis (CASA) emerges as an important tool, because it allows a standardized and rapid evaluation of the characteristics of spermatic quality. However good seminal quality parameters do not guarantee the fertility potential of an individual. The objective of this work was to analyze the in vivo reproductive performance of Landrace males in a farm nucleus. We used retrospective data from of 982 females covered in protocols of artificial inseminations (AI) in farm nucleus. The doses of AI were homospermic, performed through intracervical AI with a dose in the concentration of 3.0x109 live spermatozoa conditioned between 15 and 18 ° C. The data included the evaluation of a population of 23 pure Landrace males, with at least 20 females inseminated in protocols of 2 to 3 doses of semen per heat. The total litter size (TLS) and farrowing rates (FR) differed (P <0.05) among the best performance male FV43961 (TLS: 15,285 ± 0,7768; FR: 95%) for males FV43889 (TLS: 11,036 ± 0,5906; FR: 84,7%), and FV67884 (TLS: 10,507 ± 0,7873; FR: 72%) and these differed (P <0.05) for the worst performance, NVSG5945 (TLS: 5,647 ± 0,7958; FR: 60%). The TLS did not differ between protocols with two (12,500 ± 0,4836) and three doses of AI (12,983 ± 0,1388). The results demonstrate the existence of individuals with lower fertility. From this it is possible to better manage the characteristic fertility by providing a larger database for geneticists to make their decisions during the breeding process of this breed/lineage.
