Essential oils as alternative control of pathogenic bacteria in swine
Antimicrobial, planktonic, microbial resistance, biofilms
The general objective of this project is to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of three essential oil against two selected strains of pathogenic bacteria in their planktonic and sessile forms. The specific objectives are: to verify the feasibility of samples of pathogenic bacteria of Interest to swine breeding; confirmation and typification of isolates by conducting Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR); select isolates from both bacteria and check their ability biofilm formation; to verify and to compare the isolates sensitivity capable of biofilm formation, before and after this formation, testing two essential oils, with possibility of substitution the antimicrobials used in brazilian pig farms.
