SUMMARY:

This project aims to evaluate winter diets supplemented with 1.7% of ALL-PROTM, a feed additive rich in DHA and nucleotides, for field-produced Nile tilapia from fall to summer. The trial began in March 2022 and will be completed in December 2022. It is being conducted in a pond in the municipality of Rio Negrinho - SC, with a randomized block design (blocks x 3), distributed in two treatments, supplemented and non-supplemented diet (control), and six replications. The strain used is from Tilapia-GIFT, sexually inverted to male, and was developed by EPAGRI. Fish weighing 16 g were stored in net-cages (1.6 m3), at a density of 45 fish per m3. The daily feeding rate is followed by the biomass of each experimental unit and the average water temperature. Will be evaluated the proximal composition and fatty acid profile in whole fish and fillet, productive performance, carcass yield, in addition to economic viability. Preliminary data show weight gain of 27.78 and 25.49g and feed conversion of 1.07 and 1.14 in relation to the supplemented and control diets, respectively. The fall-winter period was challenging, with the water temperature reaching a minimum of 11°C, this condition resulted in a large reduction in animal feeding, directly affecting the growth parameters, changing the end of the trial. With the beginning of spring and temperature rise, there is a significant increase in consumption and growth speed.
