SUMMARY:

The study was carried out in two breeders, with 59-60 weeks of age of the Ross AP 91® strain. The experimental design was completely randomized in a 2x2 factorial scheme. Fertile eggs of normal shell with specific density of 1,080 to 1,085 and thin shell with specific density of 1,070 to 1,075 with and without Infectious Bronchitis of Chickens (IBC). T1 was composed of fertile eggs from breeders with thin shells with a negative diagnosis for BIG, T2 was composed of fertile eggs from breeders with thin shells; T3 composed of fertile eggs from breeders with a normal shell with a positive diagnosis for BIG; T4 composed of fertile thin-shelled eggs with a positive diagnosis for BIG. A total of 1,462 eggs were collected from each treatment, totaling 5,848 eggs. The density of the eggs was determined by the technique of analysis of specific gravity of the eggs and the zootechnical parameters such as hatching rate and hatchability in the hatchery were evaluated. For each treatment, 448 animals were evaluated, eight boxes per treatment, totaling 32 boxes, with a capacity of 56 birds per box, totaling 1,792 birds. In the farm for the evaluation of the chickens of the 4 treatments, the performance was measured as average weight, daily weight gain, feed conversion and mortality rate during the entire housing period that comprised 42 days. Feces were collected through cloacal swabs from 98 birds of each treatment (392 birds) and sequencing of 16S rRNA amplicons was performed to characterize the intestinal microbiota of chickens. To compare the results, the ANOVA and Chi-square tests were used. Differences between means were compared by Tukey's test at 5% probability. The results of zootechnical parameters of the hatchery were referring to the hatching rates and hatchability rate for each treatment, being for T1 of 76.33% and 86.40%, T2 of 63.77% and 72.02%, T3 of 62.66% and 75.66%, T4 of 56.25% and 62.76% respectively.
