SUMMARY:

In the production of pigs in the nursery and finishing phases, the period of sanitary void, the number of origins and the weight of housing impact the zootechnical result, however the proportion, linearity and economic break even point are variable. After retrieving the information for each group closed in the years 2017, 2018 and 2019, from the internal management software of the Cooperativa de Produção e Consumo Concórdia, the data were compiled and then the costs were measured, and then correlated them with the zootechnical indexes a in order to define the financial break even point. 856 nursery groups were analyzed, comprising 2,110,910 animals and 4,764 finishing groups, comprising 3,673,706 animals. Variables such as nutrition, genetics, housing period and age of the animals were not considered, as they are standardized in the Cooperative's production system. The information was submitted to exploratory and descriptive analysis, multiple correspondence, multiple regression and multiple logistic regression, using the SAS software package. Segregating the groups in relation to the sanitary void period, an increasing mortality rate was identified and inversely related, being that groups with 8 or more sanitary void days presenting 1.55% mortality, followed by groups with 4 to 7 days, with 1.64% and groups with 1 to 3 days, with 1.81%, respectively. The groups that did not have a sanitary void, presented 2.03% of mortality. The feed conversion did not show the same linearity in relation to the sanitary void period, since groups with no interval showed an average conversion of 3,190g, compared to 3,225g of groups with 1 to 3 days and 3,195g of groups with 4 to 7 days. The groups with a sanitary void greater than or equal 8 days, had an average conversion of 3,171g. Confirming this information in the statistical analysis, the incidence of premature mortality in the groups is explicit, not significantly impacting the consumption of feed in batches, and consequently the feed conversion.
