SUMMARY:

This dissertation project has as research theme "Being a teacher when educating students with indicators of (HA/GD) high ability/giftedness in the rooms of specialized educational assistance (ESA) of the Santa Catarina (SC) education network. Its general objective is to understand the meaning of being a teacher in educating people with HA/GD indicators in the SC state schools in Chapecó and Greater Florianópolis, which have ESA rooms exclusively for students with HA/GD. As specific objectives, it aims to characterize the history of attendance to gifted students in Brazil and the process of constitution of attendance services for students with HA/GD indicators in the SC state network; present the main characteristics of subjects with HA/GD, as well as the myths surrounding this theme; to investigate the educational processes and the attendance of the person with HA/GD indicators in the ESA rooms in SC and to discuss the process of teacher training of the ESA HA/GD teacher. The research will be bibliographical, documentary, and field research, qualitative with analytical-descriptive and interpretative characteristics. The data collection will interview teachers who work in the regional ESA HA/GD rooms at Chapecó and Greater Florianópolis. The collected data will be interpreted using the principles of content analysis methodology (BARDIN, 2016) based on the historical-cultural perspective of Vygotsky (2019). As a result, we hope to understand what it is to be a teacher of students with regional, in the context of the ESA of the SC state schools, and understand how the teaching practice is constituted.
