“THE MOTHER’S DAUGHTERS”: EXPERIENCES OF SOLO MOTHERS’ DAUGHTERS THAT BECAME TEACHER
Solo mothers. Daughters experiences. Teachers. Intersectionality. Memories and Narratives
With the research in progress, we dared to know the stories of solo mothers’ families through their daughters. Millions of women, half of the registered Brazilian mothers, make up an important portion of the population, which today is in the statistics, but this was not always the case. In this sense, we intend to analyze, through the narratives, how the experiences lived by women, solo mothers’ daughters, affected their trajectories in the construction of becoming a woman and a teacher, considering the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, territory and other crossings. As theoretical basis, we used intersectionality (COLLINS & BILGE, 2021; COLLINS, 2022) tensioning to prioritize black, indigenous, Latino and global south intellectuals whenever possible. The participants are solo mothers’ daughters, public school teachers in the Foz do Rio Itajaí region, born between 1970 and 2000. We used the analytical-interpretative-descriptive methodology, in Rosenthal (2014), initially. Among the collection instruments, we consider the semi-structured interview and the focus group. We also investigated the existence of artifacts such as photographs, drawings, diaries and objects to outline the narratives, the analysis and, later, the writing. The analyzes will be made by the dialogue between the empiricism, the theory and the conjuncture. We identified the participants via an online form. This research is being developed in the academic master's program of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFC), Camboriú campus. We intend to contribute to the production of knowledge about women, recording the story through the eyes of the daughters on their solo mothers and their contexts.
